About Launch Week Guides

What this site is, how facts get checked and date-stamped, and who we have no relationship with.

Launch Week Guides is an independent, unofficial launch guide for the week a game ships. It exists because launch week is when search results are at their worst: dates conflict across storefronts, sponsored posts dress up as coverage, and full walkthroughs get published before anyone could have finished the game. We publish the opposite — a short set of checked facts per game, each one dated and sourced.

How we verify

A fact goes live on this site only after it survives one of two checks: either two independent publications agree, or a single primary source — the publisher's own announcement or the live store listing — states it directly. Every fact keeps its source and its date, cited inline on each page and collected on the sources page. The checked line at the top of every page is the date we last re-verified that page's facts; when a fact changes, the page and its source entry change together, and the date moves with them.

When we cannot confirm something — a price, a platform, a subscription placement — the page says so plainly instead of printing a guess. We also separate transcription from testing: our Hellraiser keypad-code list, for example, is a faithful transcription of a named outlet's day-one guide, and the page says exactly that until we have verified the codes in person.

What this site is not

Launch Week Guides is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Konami, Evil Empire, Motion Twin, Sloclap, Kepler Interactive, or Saber Interactive — or any other developer, publisher, or platform named on the site. Game titles and trademarks belong to their owners and are used here for identification and commentary. We run no advertising at publication; if that ever changes, it will be disclosed on this page and in plain view on the pages it affects.
